Helping the Schnorr Institute to Care for Children
Lucy Electric Brazil (LEBR) were delighted to make a donation of school supplies to the Schnorr Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and caring for children and young people in the Campina da Barra neighbourhood of Araucária. The donation took place in February, and LEBR had the privilege of donating essential school supplies, and the ripple effects of this act of kindness continue to resonate through the local community.
Established in 2006, the Schnorr Institute has been an unwavering beacon of hope for families in the Araucária region. This organisation, with its commitment to providing educational, sports, and cultural activities, has been instrumental in shaping the lives of countless children and youth. With a particular focus on areas of social risk, the institute’s mission is to empower individuals and foster social cohesion.
Currently, the Schnorr Institute provides vital support to 250 children, ensuring their well-being and holistic development. This support takes various forms, but one of the most fundamental services offered is the provision of two nutritious meals a day.
Proper nutrition is not just a matter of health; it is also a cornerstone of educational success.
The Schnorr Institute goes above and beyond in creating a well-rounded learning environment for the children it serves. The organisation understands that education extends far beyond the classroom, and as such, they offer an array of activities to enrich the lives of their young beneficiaries.
On weekdays, children at the Schnorr Institute have the opportunity to engage in soccer practice, honing their athletic skills and learning valuable lessons about teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. These sports activities are not just about physical fitness; they also instill important life skills.
Furthermore, the institute offers basic robotics classes and computer lessons, providing the children with the digital literacy and technological skills that are increasingly crucial in today’s world. These classes broaden their horizons, opening doors to future opportunities they might not have otherwise encountered.
With these supplies in hand, the children can actively engage in their learning experiences, taking notes, drawing, and expressing themselves creatively.
