Lucy Electric colleagues from the Thame office recently dedicated their time to support the local community by volunteering at the Red Kite Family Centre, helping to refresh a nursery space used by young children and their families.

The team spent the day revitalising a well-used nursery room that had become worn after years of daily activity. Working with materials supplied by Red Kite, volunteers took on the hands-on task of repainting the room, transforming it into a brighter and more welcoming environment for the families who use the centre. By the end of the day, the refreshed space was ready once again to provide a comfortable and uplifting setting for children, parents and carers attending the centre’s services.

Although the work involved plenty of effort, the day proved to be both rewarding and enjoyable for the Lucy Electric volunteers. Colleagues worked together seamlessly, demonstrating strong teamwork while contributing something meaningful to a valued local organisation.

Supporting Families Through the Brilliant Babies Programme

Alongside volunteering their time, Lucy Electric has also recently donated £1,000 to support Red Kite’s Brilliant Babies group, a programme designed to help new parents during the earliest stages of their child’s life.

The Brilliant Babies group supports families from birth to around one year old, offering a friendly and supportive space where parents can access guidance, share experiences and build confidence. Through weekly sessions led by trained facilitators, the programme provides developmental activities for babies alongside practical advice for parents navigating the early months of parenthood.

Demand for early-years support services continues to grow, and initiatives such as Brilliant Babies play a vital role in helping families connect with their local community while accessing reliable advice and reassurance.

Lucy Electric’s donation will help ensure the programme can continue delivering regular sessions, maintaining equipment and providing expert support for parents and carers throughout the year.
