Lucy Electric India made a strong impact at SWICON’25, the 11th International Conference on Switchgear & Controlgear organised by IEEMA, as well as celebrating the successful dispatch of its AegisEcoTec, an SF₆-free Ring Main Unit (RMU).
Aligned with this year’s theme, ‘Reimagining Switchgear: Green, Innovative & Smart,’ SWICON’25 brought together leaders from across the industry and technical experts to discuss the future of sustainable and intelligent power distribution. Leadership and Industry Insight
On Day 1 of the conference, Raju Gadhave, Managing Director, Lucy Electric India, joined senior industry leaders and OEM heads as a panellist in the Leadership Speak session. The discussion focused on how the switchgear industry is evolving through sustainability, digitalisation, and innovation, and the role organisations must play in enabling this transition.

Raju also shared insights into Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and emphasised the importance of operational excellence in building future-ready organisations. His perspectives generated strong engagement and discussion amongst delegates, underlining the growing importance of strategic and sustainable transformation within the power sector.
SF₆-Free Innovation on Display
On Day 2, Martin Sweeney, Global Head of Product Management, presented a technical paper titled ‘SF₆-free alternative for MV secondary switchgear: Current & future trends.’

Presented under the Sustainable Technologies for Switchgear category, the paper spotlighted Lucy Electric’s SF₆-free solutions, which deliver high performance and reliability while significantly reducing environmental impact. The session drew positive interest from attendees, reflecting the industry’s increasing focus on cleaner and future-ready technologies.
Sustainability in Action: AegisEcoTec
Lucy Electric’s sustainability commitment was further demonstrated through the successful dispatch of AegisEcoTec, its clean-air, SF₆-free RMU. The milestone shipment featured:
· Non-SF₆ technology, eliminating a high global warming potential gas
· Fully compostable packaging, reducing waste and improving recyclability
· Green freight solutions, using CNG vehicles to lower transport emissions
Together, these initiatives demonstrate Lucy Electric’s commitment to embedding sustainability across the entire product lifecycle, from design and manufacturing to packaging and logistics.
