Lucy Electric is excited to introduce it’s new ‘CSR Awards’ initiative which rewards employees for voluntarily taking time out of their busy schedules to make a positive impact on people and the planet.

From local volunteering to taking part in fundraising activities, our people are actively contributing to charitable causes across the globe. Through our CSR awards initiative, employees who make outstanding contributions to the company’s CSR programme are acknowledged and celebrated.

We kick-started the initiative back in June by thanking our CSR representatives for working tirelessly over the years to implement local CSR activities; each was presented with a letter and certificate signed by Lucy Group Chairman, Richard Dick. However, our CSR representatives would not be able to do their jobs without the support of their colleagues.

This month, Mike Jones and Nick Sawyer from Thame (UK) were nominated to receive a CSR award for regularly volunteering at Lord Williams School, a local secondary school in Thame.

Over the last few years Mike and Nick have both taken a keen interest in educating young people about science and engineering. They have actively contributed to the school’s career fair, ‘Human Library’ and ‘Futures Day’ events to help students develop employability skills and explore future career options. They have readily welcomed work experience students and Mike is even a member of the Lord Williams Business Group, where local businesses meet to discuss how they can help the school moving forward.

During a meeting with their peers, Mike and Nick each received a CSR Commendation Certificate from Lucy Group’s CSR Specialist, Cristiana Padilla and Lucy Electric Thame’s General Manager, John Netherwood. They were also each presented with a bottle of champagne to thank them for their fantastic contributions to the company’s CSR programme.

By eagerly participating in community engagement activities, Lucy Electric employees are demonstrating their commitment to working together, caring for others and being trusted community figures. These are some of Lucy Group’s core values and we are proud of our people for adhering to them in their day-to-day lives and representing the company’s ethos wholeheartedly.

We look forward to announcing who will be nominated for the next CSR Award and sharing more inspiring stories with you!
