Lucy Switchgear, a leader in medium voltage, secondary power distribution solutions, has today unveiled the next generation of its Aegis Ring Main Unit range. Designed to meet electrical specifications worldwide, the range now meets the local needs of Lucy Switchgear customers across the globe.

Offering a cost effective solution using proven technology, the range delivers superior electrical performance and high levels of reliability, personnel safety and prolonged maintenance-free operation. The units are automation-ready, can be motorised for remote operation and control and are easily integrated into SCADA networks.

Available in 12kV, 17.5kV and 24kV options with up to 630 Amps ratings, the units can be tailored to meet  customers’ specific requirements and are suitable for use in a range of applications include protection of secondary distribution substations, solar power plants, wind farms, co-generation facilities, industries and commercial buildings.

Available in extensible and non extensible formats, the units feature front access cable terminations, intuitive single line mimic diagrams and up to four switching functions in a single tank. All live parts and switching functions are insulated with SF6 gas in a hermetically-sealed, stainless steel tank and are suitable for a broad range of environmental conditions.

Fitted with either electronic relays or time limit fuses (TLF) for protection, the units have a range of additional safety features, such as internal arc rated tank and cable compartments, separate earth and test facility at the front, and an anti-reflex mechanism to prevent switch opening under fault conditions.
