Lucy Electric, a leader in medium voltage, secondary power distribution solutions, will showcase its Sabre ring main unit (RMU) range, at NEMEX 2014 from 1 – 3 April, a best-in-class solution for indoor and outdoor compact substations.

Designed to meet customers’ evolving technical and market needs, the Sabre range is automation-ready and incorporates the most advanced vacuum switching technology. Available in different combinations of load break switches and circuit breakers within a single stainless steel, SF6 gas enclosure, units can be motorised for remote control and are easily integrated into SCADA networks.

Characterised by reliability and operational safety, Sabre ring main units are designed to be cost effective, maintenance-free and simple to install and operate, benefitting network operators and customers in industrial markets alike.

Available in up to 24kV and 630 Amps ratings, with fully extensible and non-extensible options, the Lucy Electric Sabre range can be tailored to meet customers’ specific requirements. Units are fully weatherproof for use in the most extreme conditions, have 30-year life expectancy and are suitable for use in a whole range of applications including power generation and distribution, commercial buildings, infrastructure and industrial,

Fitted with either electronic relays or time limit fuses (TLF) for protection, the units have a range of additional safety features, such as an integrated earth and test facility for easy testing without removing cable connections and an anti-reflex mechanism to prevent load break switch opening under fault conditions.

The animation also shows an exploded view of the product, detailing how the internal components work and what options are available.
